I had been struggling with finding a job and not knowing which tool, programming language, or certification to work on. Looking at the broad scope that is CYBERSECURITY!!! I was taken aback by the number of different paths to take. Money was an issue. I didn't think I could afford to pay for 7 certs within the time frame I needed to get a job. I finally decided school might be the best choice. After looking around for a while, I finally found a school that would work with me how I wanted and as fast as I wanted. I am still in my first term at WGU. I hope to complete 3 full terms' worth of classes by the end of this one. It seems like a lot, but in reality, it is much easier to devote as much as possible to one thing and then shift right into the next. If I am completely honest, the cohorts associated with my WebDev course and @NetworkChuck pushed me into making this website!!! Since starting the program, I have accomplished a ton! I've gained two new certifications(A+, ITILv4), joined the Order of the Sword & Shield(National Honor Society), and was awarded a scholarship! This program has been great for me. I only hope it continues on this trajectory! I hope to be complete before April 2024.

I feel like it is a good time for a catch-up on this program and how it is going. I completed several courses within the constraints of my first term at WGU. I was making really good progress until I reached the end of the term. The vagueness and dryness of the Project+ course completely blindsided me. Let's start by stating that I'm 100% sure it was my fault. The material could not be any more boring. I have never struggled in my life, as I did with Project+, to stay focused and make myself care about what I was learning. I failed the exam twice. Due to the fact that it was an extra course, as in, not required to complete a term, I was allowed to push it back a few courses. I have now moved into my 2nd term and completed the Network+ course. I am currently working on Applied Probability and Statistics. Both of these have been so much more fun than Project+! At this point, I have completed 40% of the overall curriculum and have 7 certifications/badges. I can't wait to see what happens from here!
